Fred Mugford is an artist and writer based in London. His art and fiction tend towards humor and the irreverent, but with serious intentions of exploring what it is to be human in today's complex world. His practice is mainly project based, and he uses whatever medium he feels is best to develop the project. He has worked with painting, photography, sculpture, fabrics, digital and traditional animation, digital painting, performance, writing, film and sound.

Originaly from Los Angeles (b. 1964), he also grew up in Colombia and England. He studied Aerospace Engineering at CSU Northridge in Calfornia but took up graphic design and aviation photography after graduating with no intention of working in the aerospace industry. He later worked in the film industry as a visual effects artist and instructor of 3D software, telemarketer, television producer, animator and web designer before dedicating himself to fine art and writing.
